A catch-all email mailbox is one that captures all the messages sent to non-existent addresses. For example, if your email address is info@domain.com, but someone miswrites it and sends an email message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have set up. Only one single mailbox per domain name can have this feature activated and thus you will never miss messages because the other side has an outdated email address or has made a spelling error. The disadvantage of creating a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving lots of spam, but this issue can be resolved by using anti-spam protection software. It is also essential to bear in mind that a mailbox with an enabled catch-all feature cannot redirect inbound email messages to a third-party email address.

Catch-all Emails in Hosting

In case you host a domain name on our cloud platform and you’ve got a hosting account, you will be able to activate the catch-all functionality for any e-mailbox that you set up under the domain name. The Email Manager section of the Hepsia hosting Control Panel includes quite a few functions, but it is incredibly user-friendly, so configuring a catch-all mailbox requires just one mouse click. All the email addresses that you have will be displayed in this section in alphabetical order and you will just need to click the "Catch-all" button associated with the specific address. Our system will notify you if there is already another catch-all mailbox enabled for that domain name or if the one that you would like to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding enabled, so you can either turn off the latter feature or select another mailbox. Disabling the catch-all feature is just as easy and requires one more mouse click on the very same button.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

The catch-all functionality can be enabled without any effort if you have a semi-dedicated server account with us. All the email addresses that you’ve created with the domains hosted in the semi-dedicated account will be shown in the Hepsia hosting Control Panel’s Email Manager section and you’ll notice a small icon handily situated right next to each of them. With only a single click of the mouse, you can activate or deactivate the catch-all option for any mailbox of your liking as long as there isn't another mailbox under that same domain with the option already enabled and there isn't activated email forwarding. Instead, you can right-click on a mailbox and activate this feature through the contextual menu that will show up. If any of the conditions for configuring a catch-all mailbox is not answered, our system will warn you, but will not disable or replace anything automatically.
